Miami in 13th Place After Kapolei Day One

WAIKIKI, Hawaii — Miami is tied for 13th place out of 19 teams after round one of University of Hawaii's Kapolei Invitational. RedHawk captain Danny Fisher led the team with a first-round score of 69 (three below par), boosting the team to finish six below par.

Miami will look to advance up the leaderboard during the tournament's remaining two rounds. Round two begins Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET, and round three will take place at the same time on Thursday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fisher made four birdies and 13 pars during round one, tying for 21st out of more than 110 individuals.
- Cameron Pero scored five birdies to finish with a score of 70, two below par. He is tied for 33rd overall.
- Morgan Blythe also scored five birdies in round one. He finished one below par with a score of 71 and is tied for 49th after day one.
- Michael Weber shot a 72 and was even with par. His round was highlighted by an eagle on hole 14, a par five. He was one of only 14 competitors to make an eagle.
- Matthew Mattioli shot a 75 (three above par) for round one.
- Brett Podobinski, who competed as an individual, finished the day one below par at 71.
- Miami's team score was 281, which is seven below par. The RedHawks are seven strokes away from the top five and 14 strokes away from the lead.
