RedHawks Make it Three in a Row After Downing Akron

AKRON, Ohio - The Miami soccer team beat Akron 2-0 at FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This is Miami's first road win of the season. The RedHawks improve to 7-10-1 (4-6-0 in MAC) and Akron falls to 3-13-1 (3-8-1 in MAC).Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 49th minute, Camber Hayes crossed in a ball that Julia Hoffmann initially headed, but it was blocked and rolled right back into her path for a tap-in.
- Kylee Beinecke crossed the ball to the back post and Makenna Morrison headed it home to double Miami's advantage in the 73rd minute.
NOTES
- Miami had 15 shots to Akron's three.
- Dominique Popa earned her fifth clean sheet of the season.
- Taylor Hamlett had five shots and four of them were on goal.Â
