RedHawks Blank EMU 4-0 For Fourth Straight Win

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Miami soccer team defeated Eastern Michigan 4-0 at Scicluna Field on Thursday evening to extend its winning streak to four matches. Miami improves to 8-10-1 (5-6-0 in MAC) and Eastern Michigan falls to 1-12-6 (1-8-2 in MAC).Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Haley Anspach wasted no time, opening the scoring just 33 seconds into the game on passes from Camber Hayes and Taylor Hamlett.
- Hamlett got in on the scoring action by finding the back of the net in the 36th minute, as Hayes picked up her second assist of the game.Â
- The RedHawks found a third goal before halftime as Julia Kure slotted one home on a pass from Makenna Morrison in the 38th minute.Â
- Anspach doubled her total as she put home a pass from Kylee Beinecke in the 79th minute to make it 4-0.
NOTES
- Miami had 21 shots (including 14 on target) to EMU's seven.
- Dominique Popa secured her sixth clean sheet of the season.Â
- The RedHawks had 10 corner kicks to Eastern's three.Â
- This is Miami's longest win streak since September 2021.Â
- Miami scored four goals in a match for the first time since March 2021.
