OMAHA, Neb. — The Omaha Mavericks scored with 16:01 remaining to break a scoreless deadlock and outlasted the Miami University hockey team 2-0 Saturday night at Baxter Arena.
Logan Neaton stopped 33 of the 34 shots he faced in net for the RedHawks (7-15-2, 2-11-1 NCHC). The Mavericks (13-9-2, 8-5-1 NCHC) added an empty-netter in the final minute as they won their fifth straight contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 3:59 3rd (UNO 1-0) | Omaha finally got on the board in the last period, as Kirby Proctor got loose up the left wing. Proctor dropped off a pass to Nolan Sullivan to set up a shot in close, with Jimmy Glynn finishing off the rebound near the far post.
- 19:36 3rd (UNO 2-0) | After Omaha goaltender Simon Latkoczy turned away a pair of point-blank Miami shorthanded chances in the closing minutes, Cameron Berg completed the scoring with 24 seconds left in the game. Berg finished off an unassisted power-play goal into Miami's empty net to account for the final 2-0 margin.

- Zane Demsey matched his career high with four blocked shots.
