OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University volleyball team (3-3) dropped a three-set match against Middle Tennessee (4-2) at the Miami Best Western Invitational, 13-25, 21-25, 10-25.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Red and White got off to a solid start thanks to a pair of
Ellie Hanson kills, scoring the first two points for the RedHawks. The Blue Raiders led 5-3 early on, after finding their rhythm they pulled away, outscoring Miami 20-10 and winning the set 25-13.
The second set consisted of back-and-forth gameplay, with the largest lead of the game only being four points. Four kills from
Allyson Severance and an additional three from Hanson helped keep Miami in the set, but the Blue Raiders won, 25-21.
Middle Tennessee started the third set 4-0 and led throughout, winning 25-10.
NOTES:
- Hanson had a team-high of ten kills
- Hanson has recorded double figures in kills in three out of her last four matches
