OXFORD, Ohio-- The Miami University cross country teams faced off against the Indiana Hoosiers and the Cincinnati Bearcats this weekend at the season-opening RedHawk Rumble meet. The women's teams ran the 5k and the men's teams ran the 8k.
 
The Miami women finished in first place with 30 points, led by Ava Nuttall, who took first overall. Indiana came in second with 39 points, while Cincinnati finished with 52. The Miami men also finished in first place with 29 points, ahead of Cincinnati (47) and Indiana (73)
 
How It Happened:

• For the women, Ava Nuttall ran a time of 17:36.9, setting a course record. Jenna Sayle (17:53.1) finished in fourth. Julia Rushing (17:59.4) finished in sixth place. Lotti Roemer (18:31.7) and Gianna Labbiento (18:32.5) finished in ninth and 10th, respectively.
• For the men, Max Polak (24:56.7), Jake Bertelsen (24:57), and Charlie Harders (25:02.4) finished in third through fifth place. Conall McGinness (25:15.7), and Ben Bayless (25:17.8) finished in seventh and eighth place. Patrick Wills ran unattached in his first collegiate meet and finished with a time of 25:05.6.
