CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On Friday evening the Miami University field hockey team fell to No. 7 Harvard University in overtime by a score of 1-0. The loss drops the RedHawks to 2-1 on the season, while Harvard moves to 1-0 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- With seconds left in the first quarter, goalie Isabelle Perese had a save during a penalty corner that would keep the score 0-0 through the end of the first.
- The second quarter ended without a change in the 0-0 score. At the end of the first half the RedHawks outshot Harvard 4-3.
- The score remained unchanged at the end of the third quarter, 0-0. The shots were split evenly 5-5.
- At the end of regulation play the score was 0-0, and the RedHawks were headed into overtime.
- Just under six minutes into overtime, Harvard scored during a penalty corner, winning the game 1-0.
