Jennifer Beardslee, Miami's Assistant Athletic Director for Wellness Services, has announced that Audrey Van Auken has been promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer. Van Auken, who joined Miami in early 2021, works directly with women's basketball, cross country and track.
Â
"I am thrilled to announce the promotion of Audrey Van Auken to Associate Athletic Trainer," said Beardslee. "She has a very bright future in the athletic training profession. Audrey brings a strong work ethic and team player mindset to the athletic training room each day. She is very proactive and takes an evidence-based approach while providing optimum healthcare to our student-athletes." Â
Van Auken, who has also spent time with the field hockey program, came to Oxford after working as a Graduate Assistant for the two seasons at the University of Utah, working with the men's tennis, football and baseball teams for the Red Rocks. She coordinated treatments, program modifications, and rehab progressions with coaches and team physicians while also designing exercise programs for student-athletes.
Â
"I'm extremely grateful for this new opportunity within the Human Performance and Wellness Services Department," said Van Auken. "I am excited to continue to grow as an athletic trainer in this new role!"
She also received her Masters of Science in Sports Medicine from Utah in 2020, after she graduated from Miami University in 2018. Van Auken is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
