CHAMPAIGN, Ill.-- The Miami University baseball team dropped a pair of games to the University of Illinois by the scores of 2-0 and 5-1 Saturday afternoon. The RedHawks dropped to 19-28 while the Illini improve to 25-19.
Game one was a pitching duel between the RedHawks and Illini. Miami pitchers
Jonathan Brand and
Michael Spinozzi combined to allow just one earned run.
Game two saw the RedHawks fall 5-1.
Zach MacDonald provided the offense for the Red and White with his solo home run.

- In the bottom of the sixth, Illinois drove in the only two runs of the game on a one-out single.

- In the top of the second, trailing 1-0, Zach MacDonald hit a solo home run to center field.
- The Illini took a one-run lead in the bottom of the fifth before extending their lead to four in the eighth.

- MacDonald hit his team-leading ninth home run.
- Parker Lester reached base twice on a pair of walks.
- Zach Maxey and Ryan Starr threw a combined six innings while allowing just two earned runs.
