Rider Outlasts Miami In 10 Innings

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rider scored once in the first inning and once again in the second to take a 2-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the second, trailing 2-0, William Escala led off with a single. After advancing to second on a bunt, Escala put on an impressive baserunning display, eventually scoring on a wild pitch. Blake Buzzeo singled and then stole second base before scoring on a Benji Brokemond double, tying the game at two.
- In the bottom of the fourth inning, Buzzeo led off with a single. After a sac bunt and groundout moved Buzzeo up to third, Cole Andrews doubled down the right-field line, putting the 'Hawks up 3-2.
- After Rider tied it up in the top of the fifth, Neibauer led off the bottom of the inning with a double, then advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a groundout, again giving the RedHawks a one-run lead.
- After Miami fell behind in the top of the sixth, Neibauer hit a home run to right field, locking the game up at 5-5 through seven innings.
- The Broncs (5-1) went ahead for good with a grand slam in the top of the 10th inning, evening Miami's record at 3-3 on the year.
Miami Game Notes:
- Zach Maxey threw 4.2 innings, allowing two runs.
- Woolwine went 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
- Brokemond went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
- Buzzeo went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base.
What's Next:
The RedHawks head to Indiana University for a midweek matchup Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Bloomington, Ind.
