OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University women's basketball team closed out the non-conference season with an 80-31 win over Tiffin University on Saturday afternoon. Five different RedHawks (5-8) scored in double figures and Miami outrebounded the Dragons, 39-22.
Ivy Wolf led the way with 18 points. She was joined by
Amani Freeman (15),
Katey Richason (11),
Maddi Cluse (11) and
Peyton Scott (10). Freeman added a career-high 11 rebounds for her first career double-double.
How it Happened:
- Wolf, Scott and Freeman combined to score all 14 points for the RedHawks as they led 14-8 after 10 minutes of action.
- Miami's defense allowed just five points in the second quarter and held the Dragons to 2-of-11 from the field as the Red and White went to the locker room with a 31-13 advantage.
- The RedHawks connected on 12-of-16 free throws in the third quarter, extending their lead, 53-23.
- Miami had its best offensive effort in the final stanza. The RedHawks shot 71% in the fourth quarter to walk away with an 80-31 victory.
Game Notes:
- Amani Freeman recorded her first career double-double, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
- Riley Neal finished with a career-best six points.
- Katey Richason matched her career-best with 11 points, including a career-best three free throws made.
