Highland Heights, Ky. – Second half offensive struggles doomed the Miami University women's basketball team in a 75-66 loss at Northern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops Miami to 3-5 overall, while the Norse improve to 6-4.
Ivy Wolf (20),
Peyton Scott (19), and
Maddi Cluse (16) led the way, but after leading 46-37 at the half, the RedHawks were outscored 38-20 in the final 20 minutes of play.
How it Happened:
- Scott and Wolf combined for 17 points in the first quarter as the RedHawks led 24-15 after 10 minutes of play.
- NKU came out firing to start the second with a 10-6 run, shrinking Miami's 30-25 advantage with 7:26 to play in the half. The RedHawks weathered the storm and went to the locker room with a 46-37 lead.
- Miami's offense struggled in the third, able to score just 11 points, as the Norse took a 57-54 lead into the final stanza.
- The RedHawks scored just nine points in the final quarter to drop the Sunday afternoon contest.
Game Notes:
- Ivy Wolf surpassed 500 points in her career and did so in just 37 contests. She is the third fastest in program history to surpass 500 points.
- Peyton Scott now has 1,493 points in her career. She added six rebounds and is now just eight rebounds away from 500 in her career.
