OXFORD, Ohio— The RedHawks (6-20) fell in a three-set match to Buffalo (17-10), 21-25, 14-25, 18-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Miami trailed 2-6 early in the first set. Kills from
Allyson Severance,
Brooke Jackson, and
Gentry Warrick brought the score to 6-9. The Bulls then scored three in a row to extend their lead. Coming out of a RedHawk timeout, Jackson recorded four kills to spark the offense. This brought Miami within two points at a score of 13-15. A multitude of late kills from Severance brought Miami within one at 16-17 and 19-20. The Bulls ultimately finished the set with a 25-21 set win.

The RedHawks fell behind 3-7 at the beginning of the second set. Numerous attack errors and a pair of kills brought the score within two at 7-9. Buffalo responded with a service ace and kill to regain a four-point lead at 7-11. A kill from
Maggie McCrary ended this swing. Although, Buffalo went on to find their rhythm as they took the set at 25-14. Â

A service ace and kill from
Caroline Cermack led to the RedHawks taking an early 3-2 lead. After some back-and-forth the set was tied at 7-7. Shortly after, Miami fell behind 10-14. A collection of kills from McCrary, Severance, and Stratford kept Miami in it at 13-14. Miami continued to trail at the midpoint of the set as the Bulls looked to gain momentum. A
Gentry Warrick kill brought Miami back within one at 16-17. The RedHawks fought hard, but in the end, Buffalo was able to capture a 25-18 set win.
