HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miami scored the first points of the game thanks to a hook shot from Mirambeaux. Jackson State followed this by making a pair of threes to close within one point at 9-8.

Miami responded by going on an 18-6 run to extend their lead to 35-22 with 5:24 until the intermission. A collection of threes from Mekhi Lairy, Mabrey, and Billy Smith sparked the offensive barrage. Miami maintained a 20-point lead at 71-51 with 10:05 to play after Mirambeaux scored six consecutive points. Safford then caught fire, scoring the next 10 points for the RedHawks from 9:17 to 6:01.
- With 5:24 on the game clock, Julian Lewis made all three of his free throws after getting fouled from beyond the arc. The very next possession he made a turnaround jump shot with the shot clock expiring. This gave Miami their largest lead of the game at 86-62. The RedHawks secured their third win of the season with a 95-78 finish.
- Safford scored a career-high and game-high of 26 points.
- Mirambeaux had a team-high and career-high of seven assists.
- Mabrey recorded a career-high of 15 points.
