EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Sophomores Ivy Wolf and Maddi Cluse combined for 45 points, but it was not enough as the Miami University women's basketball team dropped a 97-72 decision to Evansville on Saturday afternoon. Evansville (3-2) shot 54% from the floor, compared to Miami's (1-4) 39.7%.
Wolf scored a season-high 23 points and Cluse added 22 in the loss. Wolf contributed five assists and four rebounds and Cluse recorded a team-best five rebounds.

How it Happened:
- Miami opened the contest on an 8-2 run with the help of a pair of triples from Clare Chambers and Wolf. The Purple Aces closed the opening quarter on a 29-12 run and led 31-20 after 10 minutes of play.
- Evansville shot 50% from the field in the second quarter and extended their lead to 56-35 at the half.
- A Peyton Scott layup midway through the third cut the deficit to 16 points, but back-to-back triples from Evansville ended the Miami run. The RedHawks answered with an 11-2 run, highlighted by seven points from Cluse, to force a UE timeout at 69-56 with 2:13 to play in the third stanza. Evansville reclaimed a 16-point lead, but a Chambers buzzer beater closed the gap to 75-62 entering the fourth.
- Miami would get no closer as the Purple Aces captured a 97-72 victory.
