Defense Leads Way in 79-53 Win Over Loyola

OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University women's basketball team (2-4) had its best defensive effort of the season in a 79-53 win over Loyola Chicago (2-5) on Monday night at Millett Hall. The RedHawks forced 19 turnovers and out-rebounded the Ramblers 37-30 in the victory. The win was head coach DeUnna Hendrix's 150th career victory.
Offensively, Miami was led by Ivy Wolf's 27 points. Joining her in double figures were Maddi Cluse (15), Peyton Scott (13) and Sierra Morrow (11). Cluse added a team-high eight rebounds and five assists.

How it Happened:
- Miami opened the contest with arguably its best defensive quarter of the entire season. The RedHawks forced seven Ramblers' turnovers and added five steals en route to a 19-11 advantage after 10 minutes of play.
- The defensive effort continued into the second quarter, limiting Loyola to just seven points. Miami's Ivy Wolf had 16 first-half points to lead the way to a 35-18 halftime advantage.
- Scott scored eight points in the third quarter, helping the RedHawks to their biggest advantage of the season, 59-35 at the end of the third.
Game Notes:
- Scott's 13 points is her first double-figure scoring game since March 2, 2022 at Ohio. Scott, still working her way back from an ACL injury, played just 15 minutes.
- Miami had a season-high 11 three pointers and Wolf connected on a career-best six triples.
- Morrow had a career-high seven rebounds.
- Cluse recorded a career-high five assists.
- Miami had a season low 12 personal fouls.
