BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Ivy Wolf scored 17 and
Katey Richason added 11, but it wasn't enough for the Miami University women's basketball team in a 91-55 loss at Western Kentucky (1-2) on Monday night.
Peyton Scott, who tore her ACL in the last game of the 2021-22 season, returned to action for the first time this season for Miami (1-3).
How it Happened:
- Miami was 4-of-9 from behind the arc in the first quarter and trailed 16-15 entering the second. Both Clare Chambers and Wolf scored six points in the first 10 minutes of play.
- WKU extended its defense in the second quarter, forcing 11 Miami turnovers. The Lady Toppers used that defensive effort to outscore the RedHawks 26-11. Miami trailed 42-26 at the half.
- Miami was outscored 49-29 in the second half.
Game Notes:
- Scott saw her first action of the season, entering the contest with 4:08 left in the first quarter. She finished the contest with three points, one assist and three steals in nine minutes of action.
- Katey Richason recorded a career-high 11 points and nine rebounds.
- Wolf's streak of consecutive free throws ended at 30-straight, missing an attempt late in the contest. She finished the night 10-of-11 from the free throw line.
- Chambers recorded a career-high two triples and added six rebounds in the contest.
