Miami Looks to Bounce Back With Trip to WMU

The Miami University hockey team continues NCHC play with a trip to face No. 18/18 Western Michigan. The RedHawks are 4-3-1 after a pair of losses to then-No. 3 Denver last weekend. The Broncos come in at 5-4-0 and will be playing their first conference games of 2022-23.  WMU dropped two games to then-No. 4 Michigan last week, 5-4 in Ann Arbor and 6-5 (OT) at home.

Both games this weekend will be streamed on NCHC.tv, with puck drop set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich. Greg Waddell's audio broadcast will come from MiamiRedHawks.com Friday and WMOH 1450 AM The Ticket (Hamilton, Ohio) Saturday.

WMU leads the all-time series 77-70-13 and is 15-3-2 in the last 20 meetings. The Broncos captured all four meetings during the 2021-22 season.

Matthew Barbolini (4-4-8) and Joe Cassetti (4-3-7) each have four goals to lead the RedHawks' offense this season. Max Dukovac (1-5-6) has a team-high five assists. Goaltender Ludvig Persson is 4-3-1 between the pipes with a .929 save percentage and 2.24 GAA.

Miami head coach Chris Bergeron and junior defenseman Robby Drazner met with the media this week to preview the series against the Broncos.
