OXFORD, Ohio— Miami (7-22) lost a three-set match against Bowling Green (20-9), 7-25, 15-25, 11-25.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Bowling Green led 4-0 in the beginning of the first set.
Caroline Cermack recorded two kills to keep Miami within five at 9-4. Later on, the Falcons were able to build off of the momentum they created and took a 25-7 set win.
A couple of kills from
Brooke Jackson and
Allyson Severance kept Miami within one early in the second set. The Falcons extended their lead to 9-4 as the middle of the set approached. Shortly after, kills from Cermack, Jackson, and
Abby Stratford kept Miami within striking distance. Despite the strong effort, Bowling Green took the set 25-15.
Miami led 3-2 over the Falcons at the start of the third set. RedHawks' Jackson and Severance each recorded a kill to help take the lead. Bowling Green then proceeded to find their rhythm and pulled ahead 6-3. The RedHawks fought until the end, ultimately falling 25-11.
NOTES:
- Jackson tied the game-high of six kills.
