The Miami RedHawks continue non-conference play this week with a trip to Massachusetts to face No. 15/15 UMass Lowell. Miami is coming off an unbeaten opening weekend at home, with a 2-2 tie Saturday and a 4-1 win Sunday against Ferris State. UMass Lowell shut out St. Lawrence 4-0 in its opener Saturday night at Tsongas Center.
Both games will be available on ESPN+, with puck drop scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7 and 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8. Greg Waddell and Bridgette Proulx will call the game Friday with an audio stream on MiamiRedHawks.com. Waddell's Saturday radio broadcast will air (joined in progress) on WMOH 1450 AM The Ticket (Hamilton, Ohio).
UMass Lowell leads the all-time series 2-1-1. Most recently, the two programs split a series in Oxford in October 2018. The teams have never met in Lowell.
Three different RedHawks had three-point weekends against Ferris State:
Red Savage (1-2-3),
Max Dukovac (0-3-3), and
Hampus Rydqvist (0-3-3).
Matthew Barbolini and
Joe Cassetti each recorded a pair of goals in the FSU series.
Ludvig Persson was named NCHC Goaltender of the Week after going 1-0-1 vs. Ferris State with a .942 save percentage and 1.45 GAA.
