BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – On Thursday evening, the Miami University women's soccer team (7-4-5, 3-2-4 Mid-American Conference) fell to Bowling Green State University (6-5-4, 4-2-3 MAC) by a 1-0 scoreline.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At the 20th minute, Bowling Green scored with a close-range attempt to go up 1-0.
- In the final minute of the first half, sophomore Makenna Morrison weaved past two Bowling Green defenders and launched a shot at goal. The attempt was parried and sophomore Mercedes Schroer's follow-up was saved.
- Twenty minutes into the second half, Morrison dribbled past a Bowling Green defender on the left flank and sent the ball into the box, where it was claimed by the goalkeeper.
- Despite further attacking effort near the end of the match, the RedHawks did not find the back of the net.
NOTES:
- Miami out-shot Bowling Green nine to three in the first half and 15-11 overall.
- Freshman Kennedy Alberty recorded her third appearance as a RedHawk.
