RedHawks Handle Red Flash, 4-0

 Oxford, Ohio— On Sunday afternoon, the Miami University field hockey team tallied a season-high four goals and defeated Saint Francis University 4-0 in a game they controlled from the beginning. The RedHawks improve to 5-6 overall on the season and Saint Francis falls to 3-6 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The RedHawks offense threatened for the entirety of the first quarter, with four straight penalty corners coming with just above four minutes left in the first quarter. However, the first goal of the game came eight seconds remaining off of the sixth penalty corner for the RedHawks.
- The first goal was scored by Claudia Negrete Garcia off a perfectly placed assist by Noor Breedijk to put Miami up 1-0 over Saint Francis. In addition to the 1-0 lead for the RedHawks after 15 minutes, they also led in shots 5-0 and penalty corners 6-0.
- Miami's control of possession and stellar defense continued in the second quarter as they tallied two more shots and two more penalty corners.
- At halftime, Miami led Saint Francis 1-0, as well as leading 7-0 in shots and 8-0 in corners.
- With 7:16 left, Claudia Negrete Garcia scored her second goal of the game off of a spectacular flip shot, coming from the left side of the cage, to put Miami ahead 2-0.
- The RedHawks domination continued as Carlie Servis scored with 33 seconds to play in the third, resulting from another Miami penalty corner, making the score 3-0.
- After 45 minutes the RedHawks held a 12-0 advantage in both shots and corners as they continued to dominate possession.
- Just over two minutes into the fourth quarter, Lexie Nugent added another goal to the RedHawks lead, making the score 4-0.
- Miami finished the game with 16 shots and 15 penalty corners, compared to three shots and three penalty corners for Saint Francis
