BUFFALO, N.Y.—In the second of a two-match weekend series at the University at Buffalo, the Miami University volleyball team (2-10; 0-2 Mid-American Conference) dropped a three-set decision to the Bulls (9-5; 2-0 MAC) on Saturday afternoon in Alumni Arena, 22-25, 21-25, 16-25.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Miami held a 6-5 lead in the opening set. The Bulls pushed ahead on a 4-0 spurt and did not trail again in the set, taking the opening stanza, 25-22.
- A block by senior Gaby Harper and sophomore Maggie McCrary handed the RedHawks an 8-7 advantage in the second set. The Bulls went on an 8-2 run to take a 15-10 advantage and went on to take the second set, 25-21.
- The teams went back and forth early on before the Bulls built a 7-4 lead. Miami closed within one off a junior Allyson Severance kill, 8-9, but Buffalo went on to collect a 25-16 win in the third set.
NOTES:
- Severance led Miami with 10 kills.
- Senior Jennifer Schulze added 21 assists.
- Riemersma led all players with 13 digs.
- McCrary notched three blocks.

Miami returns home to host Akron in a two-match series to kick off the Family Weekend festivities. The RedHawks host the Zips at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30 and at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1.
