Sport and Facility Services Announces Staff Additions, Promotions

Miami University Athletics has announced two additions and two promotions to its Sport and Facility Services Department. Kyle O'Brien has been named Assistant Director of Sport and Facility Services, while Chris Beck has been named Equipment Coordinator. Phil Johnson has been promoted to Director of Sport and Facility Services and Tori Forney is now an Associate Director of Sport and Facility Services.

O'Brien joins Miami for the second time in his career, serving as a Graduate Intern in Event and Facility Management from July 2018 through August 2019. O'Brien most recently worked as an Event Operations Post Grad Intern for Kansas State for the past 18 months. He graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in sport management in 2018.

Beck joins the RedHawks after spending the past 18 months as an Equipment Coordinator for Ashland University. He has also spent time at Case Western Reserve (2018-19), the Cleveland Browns (2015-17) and Mount Union (2012-15). Beck graduated from Mount Union with a major in sport business in 2016.

Johnson, who originally came to Miami in 1995, has been a permanent fixture with the RedHawks since 2017 as an Assistant Director of Athletic Events and Guest Services. He graduated from Minnesota Duluth in 1993 and added a master's degree from Drake in 1996.

Forney came to Miami in 2018 as an Assistant Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement and transitioned to the Sport and Facility Services Department in 2019. She completed her undergraduate in 2016 from Southeastern University and two years later finished her master's from the same university.
