RedHawks Come Out Strong and Shutout Colonels, 2-0

RICHMOND, Ky. – With an early goal advantage, the Miami University women's soccer team (3-2-3) downed Eastern Kentucky University (4-4-0) by a score of 2-0 at EKU Soccer Field on Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The RedHawks come back home to play Central Michigan University at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The RedHawks came out aggressively looking to score. Julia Hoffmann found the net early with an assist from Mercedes Schroer to give Miami the edge, 1-0 in the first half.
- Thirty-four seconds into the second half, Jaimie Tottleben knocked one in to extend the lead, 2-0 against the Colonels.
- The RedHawks continued to shutout the Colonels, finishing the game with a 2-0 win.
- Miami outshot Eastern Kentucky 18-8 and had nine shots on-goal to the Colonels' three in Friday's matchup.
- Izzie Vaccari had three saves in the RedHawks second consecutive shutout win.
The RedHawks come back home to play Central Michigan University at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23.
