DAYTON, Ohio—In a tune-up for the 2021 season, the Miami University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Wright State University on Saturday afternoon in exhibition action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- With set point on the line, the RedHawks used a 9-0 surge to battle back from a 24-15 deficit to knot the first set at 24-24. Miami continued to go toe-to-toe with the Raiders but were edged in the opening frame, 26-28.
- WSU took the next two sets, 25-16 and 25-15.
- Senior Gaby Harper led all players with 11 kills and added 10 digs and two blocks.
- Junior Jacquelyn Krumnauer posted 12 digs to pace Miami.
- Senior Jennifer Schulze posted 18 assists, 10 digs and a service ace, and freshman Gracie Norris added 17 assists.
- Junior Lindsay Taylor led the team with four blocks, while sophomore Maggie McCrary added three blocks.
- The teams played a fourth set, but stats are not available from that set.

The RedHawks open the 2021 campaign at the Marshall Invitational this weekend. Miami takes on Austin Peay in its season opener at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27.
