Miami University's
Courtney Vierstra threw a no hitter (faced the minimum) and Miami's offense pounded out nine hits in an 11-0 win over the Akron Zips on Friday afternoon. The win, Miami's 13th
 in a row,
moves the RedHawks to 19-6 overall and 9-0 in Mid-American Conference play, while the Zips fall to 3-20, 2-7 MAC.

How it Happened:
- Adriana Barlow gave Miami an early 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the top of the first.
- Miami exploded for six runs in the second. Holly Blaska doubled to left center to plate two. Karlee Juarez, Barlow and Mackenzie Moore added RBI's in the second as well.
- It was 11-0 after three innings of play following RBI hits from Karli Spaid, Allie Cummins and Moore.
- Vierstra did the rest, throwing her second no-hitter of the year, striking out 12 Zips. Her only blemish was hitting the lead-off batter to open the contest. Vierstra's 12 strikeouts puts her in a tie for second all-time in Miami history with 672 career strikeouts.
