
Reid Named Director of Compliance

Miami University Director of Athletics David Sayler has announced that Alex Reid will be the new Director of Compliance for the RedHawks.
"I am excited to join the Miami University family," said Reid. "I would like to thank President Crawford, Athletic Director David Sayler, and the search committee for affording me the opportunity to assist RedHawk student-athletes in our mission of Graduating Champions. Every person I have encountered that has ties to the university, holds a sense of personal pride and connection to Miami. I am grateful to become a part of this prestigious academic and athletic institution."
Reid spent the past two years at the University of Kansas as the Associate Director of Compliance. His chief responsibilities for the Jayhawks included amateurism, awards and playing and practice season areas and serves as the liaison with Teamworks for the Compliance & Student Services office.
Previously, Reid served as the Compliance Coordinator at Middle Tennessee State University where he was primary contact for the Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Tennis, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Track & Field.

"His professional experiences working in compliance at Kansas, Middle Tennessee State, and Iowa State coupled with his legal background make him a valuable addition to our team. Alex's service-based approach will be helpful in ensuring the needs of Miami Athletics are met while having adequate knowledge to provide education about current and forthcoming legislation."
Prior to MTSU, Reid began his Compliance career as the Compliance Intern at Iowa State University. During his time at ISU, Reid was promoted to the role of Compliance Assistant before his departure.
Reid is actively involved in the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC). He serves as a member on the NAAC Awards and Membership Committee. Reid was selected to be a part of the Athletics Compliance Elite (ACE) Mentorship Class of 2018-19.
The Canton, Iowa native received his undergraduate degree for Business Marketing and Management from Northwest Missouri State University. Additionally, he has a law degree from Drake University with a certificate in Food and Agricultural Law.
