OXFORD, Ohio — Graduate student Kevin Napoleon dominated out of the bullpen for the Miami University baseball team, throwing 4.1 scoreless innings in a 5-2 win against the University of Toledo on Sunday afternoon. The RedHawks improve to 10-8 overall and 3-1 in Mid-American Conference action, while the Rockets fall to 3-14 on the season and 1-3 in MAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Graduate student Will Vogelgesang drove in freshman Dalton Back to get the RedHawks on the board in the first inning and even the scoring at 1-1.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Back homered to center field, tying up the game at two apiece.
- In the bottom of the sixth, senior Nate Stolze doubled to left field, driving in junior Cole Andrews, giving the RedHawks their first lead of the game, 3-2.
- Vogelgesang tripled deep to center field in the bottom of the seventh, driving home senior Michael Morisette and redshirt freshman Nate Stone to extend the RedHawk lead to 5-2.
GAME NOTES:
- Back went 3-for-4 with his third home run of the year. He scored Miami's first two runs of the game.
- Stolze went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the sixth. He was also excellent behind the plate, catching two Rockets trying to steal second base.
- Napoleon was dominant out of the bullpen, striking out six over 4.1 scoreless innings. This was his first win in a RedHawk uniform.

The RedHawks host the Northern Illinois University Huskies on Friday, March 26. The first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at McKie Field at Hayden Park.
