MIAMI, Fla. — The Miami University baseball team picked up its second loss of the 2021 season on the road, falling to the Florida International University Panthers by a 3-1 score on Friday evening. With the loss, the RedHawks are now 3-2 on the season, and FIU moves to 3-1.
How it Happened:
- Miami was the first one to get on the scoreboard in the third. Cole Andrews reached first base on an error by the first-baseman, and scored Mac Hippenhammer.
- The score stayed at 1-0, until the Panthers scored three unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth to put the score in their favor.
- Sam Bachman was given the start on the mound for Miami, and pitched six innings with ten strikeouts with no runs allowed.

Miami continues their season with a doubleheader at Florida International University. The game is scheduled for Feb. 27, with the first game scheduled for a 1 p.m. start in Miami.
