OXFORD, Ohio — For its 3-0 sweep of the Jacksonville University Dolphins this past weekend, the Miami University baseball team received the first honor of the Hercules Strong Performance of the Week, sponsored by Hercules Tires.
Each week, the Miami University Athletic Department will highlight a team/individual strong performance with this recognition that will be awarded each Tuesday. The RedHawks baseball squad started the season on a strong note, going 3-0 to kick off the 2021 season. This is the best start for Miami baseball since 1998. Miami started the weekend with a 4-1 win on Saturday. They ended the Saturday doubleheader with a come-from-behind 8-4 win, which included Brian Zapp and Parker Massman scoring two runs a piece. The success continued on Sunday, with a 5-2 victory to end the series, which included a three run seventh-inning to seal the victory.
The baseball team returns to action tonight, February 24, with a game at the University of Kentucky. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Lexington.
