Ludvig Persson picked up the win between the pipes, making 26 saves for the visitors.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 4:23 1st (Mercyhurst 1-0) | After Miami was unable to clear the puck out of the zone, the Lakers' Steven Ipri and Jonathan Bendorf combined to manufacture a solid shot on goal, and Gueorgui Feduolov was in the right place at the right time to knock the rebound in on the back side and open the scoring.
- 14:39 1st (Miami 1-1) | The RedHawks executed a quick-developing 2-on-1 to perfection, as Hampus Rydqvist and Joe Cassetti raced down the ice to set up Miami's first goal of the game. With Cassetti on his left, Rydqvist kept the puck himself and fired it past Hank Johnson to get the RedHawks on the board. Olmstead had an assist on the play.
- 15:41 1st (Miami 2-1) | Miami struck again just 62 seconds later. Regush fed the puck to Robby Drazner, who weaved in close to the net and sent a pass across to Barry. The senior forward was waiting near the back post for an easy one-time finish.
- 1:36 2nd (Miami 3-1) | Regush scored a highlight-reel goal on an unassisted breakaway, pulling the puck back not once, but twice to fake out Johnson and convert for a 3-1 lead.
- 3:13 2nd (Miami 4-1) | The RedHawks' offensive barrage continued, as Jack Clement won the puck deep in his own end and pushed it ahead to Barbolini. Barbolini found Graham with plenty of space in the attacking zone, and Graham did the rest. His goal, Miami's fourth in a row, resulted in a Mercyhurst goalie change, with Kyle McClellan coming on in relief of Johnson.
- 16:58 2nd (Miami 4-2) | Mercyhurst finally broke through late in the second period with a goal from Devon Daniels, as the Lakers got a fortunate bounce off a rebound to cut the RedHawks' lead to two. Paul Maust and Geoff Kitt were credited with assists.
- 0:21 3rd (Miami 5-2) | Miami opened the final period on the power play and turned the man advantage into a huge goal in a matter of seconds. Barry brought the puck up ice, found Barbolini on the left wing, and Barbolini sent it back across to Ryan Savage on the right side for a finish into the top corner.
- 3:38 3rd (Mercyhurst 5-3) | The Lakers answered back with a power play goal of their own to stay close. Josh McDougall did the honors off an assist from Noah Kane.
- 8:48 3rd (Miami 6-3) | Miami wasn't done yet. After Andrew Sinard picked out a beautiful entry pass from the point, Brian Silver worked it free to Graham, who fed Olmstead in front for a goal.
- 17:29 3rd (Mercyhurst 6-4) | Mercyhurst pulled its goalie to try and capitalize on a late power play, and the Lakers came through with a 6-on-4 tally by Pierce Crawford off assists from Kane and Owen Norton.
- 18:32 3rd (Miami 7-4) | With the Mercyhurst net still empty, Olmstead picked up his second goal of the period, capping the scoring with an unassisted shot from the blue line.
