ON TAP: The Miami University women's basketball hosts Eastern Kentucky on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m.

HOME SWEET HOME: After opening the season with four of its first five games on the road, the Red Hawks are in the middle of a home stand that features five contests inside Millett Hall in their next six games.

1,000 AND COUNTING: Junior Peyton Scott surpassed the 1,000 point plateau in her career last week and now sits at 1,007 career points, 26th best in school history.

REDHAWKS PICK UP WIN OVER EVANSVILLE: Peyton Scott scored 25 points and added 12 rebounds and six assists in a 81-73 win over Evansville last Saturday afternoon inside Millett Hall. Scott's 25 points helped put her over 1,000 in her career. She was joined by Maddi Cluse (13), Jada Duckett (12) and Ivy Wolf (10) in double figures. The RedHawks shot 49.3% from the floor, recording 22 assists on 36 made buckets and forced 29 Evansville turnovers.

WITH A WIN: A win on Sunday would move the RedHawks to 4-3 on the year, matching last year's win total. Miami got its fourth win of the season last year on Feb. 27.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT: In the loss at LUC two weeks ago, junior Peyton Scott had just six points on 2-of-7 shooting. In her last 38 contests, Scott has more 30 point games (5) then under 10 point games (3).

GET THE WINDEX: Miami's rebounding numbers have been all over the map early in the season. In the season opener, the RedHawks out-rebounded Valpo 44-19 and then went to Illinois (47-33) and Xavier (39-24) and dominated the glass in both contest. In back-to-back losses to Northern Kentucky and Loyola Chicago, Miami was out-rebounded by a total of 77-69. In last week's win over Evansville, Miami held a 47-33 advantage on the glass.

BALANCING ACT: While Peyton Scott (20.5) and Ivy Wolf (11.2) are getting a majority of the offensive attention, Miami has a total of eight players averaging at least 4.3 points per game this season. Last year, just four RedHawks averaged over 4.0 points per game.

ABOUT EASTERN KENTUCKY: EKU enters Sunday's action with a 3-4 record, fresh off a 60-55 win over Tennessee at Chattanooga on Thursday evening. Jayla Johnson is tops on the team at 15.9 points per contest.

SERIES WITH COLONELS: This is the 17th meeting between the two schools with EKU holding a slight 9-7 advantage. Miami has won the last three meetings, including a 75-57 victory at EKU back during the 2019-20 campaign.

GREAT SCOTT: Junior guard Peyton Scott has accomplished more than most through just over two years of play.
• Has scored 1,007 points and ranks 26th all-time on Miami's scoring list.
• She currently ranks third in the MAC in scoring (20.5), 16th in rebounding (6.2), seventh in assists (4.3), third in field goal percentage (.539) and 12th in three-point percentage (.423).
• Last season alone, she scored 30-plus points in five different games, including 39 versus Ball State, a new Millett Hall record.
• She had a stretch last season from Feb. 3-Feb. 13 in which she scored 30-plus points in four straight games, the first RedHawk in school history to accomplish such a feat.

NEW FACES: Miami played several games a year ago with as few as seven players and will have 15 in 2021-22. In all, Miami welcomes four new freshmen in Clare Chambers, Maddi Cluse, Ivy Wolf and Katey Richason. Sydney Watkins and Edyn Battle return after missing last season with an injury and Tajah Foster-Walker and Jordan Tuff, two transfers join the RedHawks as well.
