Senior in First After Day One at Diamond Classic

MENTOR, Ohio—In its first competition since the 2019-20 season, the Miami University senior synchronized skating team got the 2021-22 campaign off to a strong start at the Diamond Classic on Friday night. The senior team burst out of the gates in the short program competition, seizing first place on day one.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Miami amassed a short program score of 66.86 to catapult themselves into first among the three-team field heading into Saturday's free skate.
- The RedHawks hold a 16.40-point advantage over the second-place Crystallettes.
- MU leads third-place Adrian College by 24.04 points.
