OXFORD, Ohio. – Behind an exciting first half, the Miami University women's soccer team (7-3-3; 4-1-0 Mid-American Conference) defeated the University of Toledo (7-4-2; 2-3-0 MAC) at Bobby Kramig Field on Thursday afternoon, 3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The RedHawks will be on the road to play Bowling Green at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Toledo had an early goal advantage at the nine-minute mark to make it a 1-0 Toledo lead.
- At the 19-minute mark, Miami's Kristina DeMarco answered to tie the match, 1-1.
- Four minutes later, the RedHawks finish at the net again. The goal was scored by Haley Anspach and was assisted by Julia Hoffmann to make the lead 2-1 for Miami.
- At 75:30, Kylee Beinecke scored off a cross from Keara Kerr as the RedHawks extended the lead, 3-1.
- Miami held Toledo scoreless in the second half, finishing the match 3-1 for the RedHawk win.
- Miami outshot Toledo 12-5, with six shots on-goal to the Rockets' two.
- Izzie Vaccari had two saves in the win.
The RedHawks will be on the road to play Bowling Green at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10.
