Miami Defeated by No. 3 Louisville, 4-1

 Louisville, Ky.— In a Monday night under the lights game, the Miami field hockey team fell to No. 3 Louisville 4-1 in their third game in four days. Miami falls to 6-8 on the year, while Louisville improves to 11-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After 15 minutes played, Miami continued to put pressure on Louisville by passing in the box. The RedHawks led the Cardinals 2-0 in shots and 1-0 in penalty corners after the first quarter.
  • With 11:27 left in the second quarter, Louisville draws first on a penalty corner to make the score 1-0.
  • Louisville quickly added another goal at 8:32 also in the second quarter extending their lead to 2-0 over the RedHawks.
  • At the half, Louisville's 2-0 lead remained, shots were even at two each and Louisville led in penalty corners 2-1.
  • Louisville struck the back of the net again with 11:26 left in the third quarter, making the score 3-0.
  • The third quarter saw Louisville add two shots in addition to their goal but Miami was unable to add any shots or corners as they tried to get back into the game.
  • With just above three minutes to play Louisville scored again to make the score 4-0.
  • Claudia Negrete Garcia got Miami on the board with 32 seconds left to make the final score 4-1 Cardinals.
