Oxford, Ohio — On Friday afternoon, in their last regular-season game, the Miami field hockey team stormed past Bellarmine 5-0 on a senior day to capture their fifth-straight regular-season Mid-American Conference title. The RedHawks controlled all facets of the game leading to the dominant victory. The win lands Miami the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament. Miami finishes the regular season 6-1 in the MAC and 9-10 overall, while Bellarmine finishes 2-5 in the MAC and 3-12 overall. With the victory seniors

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Morgan Sturm got the scoring started for the RedHawks. The goal was assisted by Claudia Negrete Garcia and resulted from a second straight penalty corner at 8:01 left, making the score 1-0 Miami.
- With 3:27 left in the first quarter, Negrete Garcia scored off of another penalty corner assisted by Luli Rosso, putting the RedHawks ahead 2-0 over Bellarmine. The goal was Negrete Garcia's 17th, tying her for tenth all time in single season goals.Â
- After 15 minutes played, Miami led the Knights in shots 8-0 and in penalty corners 3-0.
- In the second quarter, the RedHawks continued to dominate the time of possession and created chances on offense, having two shots hit the post but were not able to hit the back of the cage.
- At the half, Miami led Bellarmine 2-0, while also holding a 12-0 advantage in shots and a 5-0 edge in penalty corners.
- Rosso quickly added to the RedHawks lead with 14:23 left in the third quarter, putting Miami ahead 3-0.
- Morgan Sturm added her second goal of the game with 12:45 remaining in the third quarter on a penalty corner that was assisted by Luli Rosso and Madison Workman, resulting in a 4-0 Miami lead.
- Carlie Servis added to the RedHawks lead with 6:58 to play in the third quarter, giving the RedHawks their third goal of the quarter and a 5-0 lead.
- Similar to the second quarter, in the fourth quarter, Miami controlled the possession and tallied seven shots and four penalty corners but was unable to add to their 5-0 advantage.Â
- Miami finished the game leading in shots 29-2 and in penalty corners 13-2.
