Miami Falls in OT to Kent State, 3-2

OXFORD, Ohio – In sudden victory overtime, the Miami University women's soccer team (7-5-3; 4-3-0 MAC) lost 3-2 against Kent State University (9-4-1; 5-1-1 MAC) at Bobby Kramig Field on Thursday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:  
  • Miami's Hailey Matthews found Bronwen Sears to open the scoring at the 30-minute mark, sending the RedHawks into the half with a 1-0 advantage.
  • At 62:38, Kent State answered back with a goal of their own, bringing the score back to a 1-1 tie.
  • Eight minutes later, Makenna Morrison finished in the box to help regain the lead 2-1 for the RedHawks.
  • Kent State tied it back up 2-2 with two seconds left of the regulation, taking the match into overtime.  
  • Kent State scored at 94:12 in sudden victory, finalizing the game 3-2.
Notes:
  • Izzie Vaccari had seven saves in the matchup.
  • Sears had an assist on Morrison's goal at the 70-minute mark.
