Baseball Announces 2021 Schedule

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University baseball head coach Danny Hayden revealed the RedHawks' 2021 schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The 56-game slate features 20 games at McKie Field at Hayden Park.

"While our schedule has changed several times over the past couple weeks, I remain very excited about the competition our team will face before we head into MAC play," Hayden said. "Our schedule has some premier college baseball programs and it will challenge us each week. We will have to be road warriors because many of our previously scheduled home weekends were cancelled due to nationwide conference schedule adjustments to COVID-19 protocols. We are on the road for the first four weeks before we begin conference play. That will not be an excuse for anyone inside our program. After having the 2020 season taken away so abruptly, these guys couldn't care less about a bus ride if it means we get to play baseball again."

Miami opens the season as it travels down to Jacksonville University (Feb. 19-21) for a three-game series. The road trip to start the season is followed by games with Kentucky (Feb. 23), Florida International (Feb. 26-28), UConn (March 5), Coastal Carolina (March 6), Davidson (March 7), and Memphis (March 12-14).

The RedHawks hold their home-opening series for 2021 when Toledo (March 19-21) comes to town for a Mid-American Conference matchup. After the series with the Rockets, the month of March will end with a home weekend with Northern Illinois (March 26-28) in Oxford.

A road trip will kick off the month of April, with the 'Hawks traveling to Eastern Michigan for a four-game series in Ypsilanti (April 2-4). Miami welcomes another team from Michigan to Oxford the following weekend, hosting the Broncos of Western Michigan for a four-game home series at McKie Field. Bowling Green hosts the RedHawks this season (April 16-18), followed by the last full series in April at home against Kent State (Apr. 23-25).

More conference games are planned for May, with Central Michigan hosting Miami for the first round of games in May (April 30-May 2). The first half of May will be spent mostly on the road, with a conference road trip to Ohio (May 7-9), and a non-conference two-game series in Morgantown with West Virginia (May 14-15). The seniors on the Miami roster will enjoy their last games at home at the end of May with Akron coming to town (May 21-23), followed by a trip to Muncie to take on Ball State to finish the regular season.

Game times for the 2021 Miami Baseball schedule are confirmed, but are subject to change. The standard weekend home series times are Friday (5 p.m.), Saturday (1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.), Sunday (1:00 p.m.). Please refer to miamiredhawks.com for schedule updates.

Consistent with the Mid-American Conference and their sport policies, Miami Athletics will not host general public fans for sporting events in Oxford until further notice. For the spring, families and support systems of student-athletes and coaches will be permitted to attend as venue space allows. At this time, we anticipate only being able to accommodate a small number of families and support systems for the home team only. Miami and the Mid-American Conference will continue to evaluate spectator options throughout the season. All sport policies are subject to compliance with conference approved game operations protocols and must also adhere to institutional, national, state, and local health mandates and guidelines which may be more restrictive.
