KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Miami University women's basketball team fell 70-54 on Wednesday afternoon to the Western Michigan Broncos. In the loss,
Peyton Scott led the way with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The loss drops Miami to 1-11 overall and 0-8 in conference play. WMU is now 2-7 overall and 1-6 in MAC play.
How it Happened:
- Katie Davidson and Kenzie Schmitz got on the board early as the RedHawks began the contest on a 9-4 run before the Broncos answered with a 16-4 spurt and led 20-14 after the first quarter.
- WMU scored the first four points of the second quarter to take a 10 point lead, but a three point play by Tihanna Fulton closed the gap to 28-26 with just over three minutes to play. WMU finished the half on a 7-3 run to lead 35-29 as both teams went to the locker room.
- Peyton Scott scored seven points in the quarter, but it wasn't enough as the Broncos extended their lead to 54-39 after three quarters of play.

- Peyton Scott had her second double-double of the season, finishing the contest with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
- Tihanna Fulton recorded a career-high seven rebounds.
- Taylor Boroff connected on her first career three pointer with the RedHawks.
