Miami RedHawks (7-6) at Wright State Raiders (5-9)
Tuesday, March 10 – 3 p.m. (EDT)
Dayton Ohio - Nischwitz Stadium
ON TAP
In a rematch from last week's midweek contest, the Miami University baseball team travels to Wright State on Tuesday. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
ABOUT WRIGHT STATE
The Raiders are 5-9 on the season. That record is deceiving as 10 of their 14 games this season have been against nationally ranked opponents. That includes winning two out of three this past weekend at 11th-ranked Tennessee. Wright State's top hitter so far has been redshirt junior outfielder Quincy Hamilton. He is hitting .357 with seven RBIs and a .452 slugging percentage. The pitcher the Raiders are projected to start on Tuesday is sophomore right hander Tristan Haught. He is 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in 5.1 innings pitched (four appearances).
SERIES WITH WRIGHT STATE
Miami holds a 47-42 lead in the all-time series with Wright State. The Raiders took an 8-6 victory in 14 innings in their last meeting this past Tuesday in Oxford. Wright State built a 4-0 lead before Miami scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth. The RedHawks scored two more in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead, but Wright State scored once in the eighth to send the game to extra innings. Each team scored one run in the top of the 10th and had several opportunities to win the contest, but it was the Raiders who scored two in the top of the 14th to finish off the victory in a game that lasted 5:20.
UP AHEAD
The RedHawks host Penn State for a three-game series this week at McKie Field at Hayden Park. First pitch on Thursday is at 6 p.m. Friday's game will begin at 5 p.m. The finale on Saturday will start at 1 p.m.
