OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University softball team (11-6) won both of its games at the Miami Softball Stadium on Saturday in the first two home games of the season. The RedHawks beat Eastern Illinois by a 5-1 margin before shutting out Green Bay 3-0.

Morgan Lott moved up to tie the second-most career triples in program history with a triple in the second inning as she now has 10 in her career.
Courtney Vierstra moved up to fourth on the all-time strikeout list with 14 strikeouts in the game as she has 541 strikeouts in her career.
Vierstra pitched her fourth complete game of the season, giving up only two hits and one run opposite the 14 strikeouts.
Eastern Illinois took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning with a two-out single down the left line despite three strikeouts in the inning by Vierstra.
The RedHawks were patient in the batter's box and drew three walks in the bottom of the first but left the bases loaded.
Miami took a 5-1 lead with five runs in the bottom of the second inning.
Riley Coyne led off with a home run to tie the game at one.
Haeley Tran singled and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Adriana Barlow. Tran scored on
Morgan Lott's second triple of the season.
Holly Blaska brought Lott home with a long single. After stealing second and advancing to third, Blaska scored on a single from
Jada Dotson. The Panthers would change pitchers with two outs.
Hannah Obrey reached on a fielding error that allowed Dotson to score from first base for the fifth and final run of the inning.
The score would remain 5-1 for the rest of the game as the RedHawks reached 10 hits as a team. Tran led Miami's offense with a perfect 3-of-3 performance at the plate while Blaska and Coyne each went 2-of-3 with an RBI while Blaska stole two bases.
Miami 3, Green Bay 0
Brianna Pratt pitched the complete-game shutout and the one-hitter. Pratt had a no-hitter going into the seventh inning. She struck out nine batters and gave up no walks.
Miami scored a single run in the bottom of the first to take the early 1-0 lead. Blaska hit a one-out single and stole second before advancing to third on a single from the bat of
Allie Cummins. Blaska scored on a passed ball as Cummins was also able to advance to third but two straight outs ended the RedHawks' threat.
The game remained 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth inning when the RedHawks added a run. Tran led off with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Barlow. Lott brought Tran home with a single. Lott stole second but was left there to end the inning.
Miami scored another run in the bottom of the sixth to increase its lead to 3-0. Obrey reached first on an error with one out, stole second and was able to score from second on an error that saw
Kara Leckinger safe at first.
Tran led the Miami offense with her second multi-hit game of the game, going 2-of-3 with a run. Blaska stole two bases for the second-straight game.

The RedHawks host three games at the Miami Softball Stadium on Sunday, beginning with a neutral-site game between EIU and Green Bay at 10 a.m. Miami is scheduled to play Green Bay at 12:30 p.m. and Eastern Illinois at 3 p.m.
