Miami Travels to Athens for Regular-Season Finale

The RedHawks and Bobcats are scheduled for a 1 p.m. tip on Saturday.

ON TAP: Miami (11-18, 4-13 Mid-American Conference) travels to Ohio (17-11, 10-7 MAC) for the regular-season finale on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. Fans can listen to the game on The Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner and watch on ESPN3.

LAST TIME OUT: The RedHawks fell to Bowling Green on Wednesday on Senior Night by an 82-69 margin. Miami took the lead in the fourth quarter but could not overcome BG's 77.8 percent shooting effort and 15 free throws in the final 10 minutes. Savannah Kluesner led the RedHawks' offense with 17 points and also had a team-high seven rebounds. Peyton Scott also scored in double figures with 14 points while Lauren Dickerson recorded 10 assists.  This season, Dickerson leads the Miami offense with 16.9 points per game, while Kluesner (15.7 ppg) and Scott (12.8 ppg) also average double figures. Miami ranks second in the conference in turnover margin (3.55), assist/turnover ratio (0.98), blocks per game (3.76) and steals per game (9.41) and third in the conference in offensive rebounds per game (13.2) and assists per game (14.45).
 
ABOUT OHIO: The Bobcats are second in the MAC East with a 10-7 record in conference play as they look to snap a four-game losing streak to conclude the regular season. On Saturday, Ohio fell to Kent State by an 81-77 margin despite leading 39-37 at halftime. The Golden Flashes used a 13-point advantage in the third quarter to build a double-digit lead going into the final 10 minutes of play. Erica Johnson had a monstrous 36 points on 15 field goals to lead Ohio's scoring while Amani Burke and Cece Hooks also reached double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Gabby Burris had a game-high 11 rebounds. Ohio has the best scoring margin in the MAC (6.1) though its rebounding margin is last (-5.6). The Bobcats also lead the conference in steals per game (10.96) and turnover margin (7.36).

SERIES WITH THE BOBCATS: Miami leads the all-time series against Ohio 57-35, though the Bobcats have the 21-20 advantage in Athens. Ohio owns the last three meetings including an 84-70 decision earlier this season during One Miami Weekend and Love.Honor.Care. The RedHawks had four score in double figures during the contest. Dickerson led the way with 16 points and Kenzie Schmitz had a career-high 13 points. Scott (12 points) and Kluesner (10 points) also had double figures but the RedHawks could not complete the second-half comeback.

LOOKING AHEAD: The RedHawks will be on road for the first round of the MAC Tournament on Monday. Miami's opponent will be determined after all Saturday games conclude.
