RedHawks Conclude National Championships

Collegiate placed third while senior finished fourth at the national championships.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Miami synchronized skating team concluded its East Coast trip at the US Synchronized Skating Championships this on Saturday.
Miami's collegiate team placed third in the final standings while the senior team placed fourth.
"I thought both teams put out fantastic skates tonight," head coach Carla DeGirolamo said. "Sometimes the numbers don't work out in your favor, but that is the sport. I am so proud of all our athletes and everything we have accomplished this season. I look forward to next year."
On the collegiate side, the RedHawks posted their third highest total of the season with a 92.81 in a clean showing of their 'Me and My Girls' free skate. However, Michigan erupted with a 106.49 to take the title and Adrian's 97.35 took second.
The senior team concluded the evening by posting the second highest free skate score of the competition. The RedHawks' 'Rise Up' themed free skate notched a 127.90 and gave them a fourth-place combined score of 192.39. Only the national champion Haydenettes' 129.51 was higher on the night as they won the overall competition with a score of 203.19. The Skyliners earned the second World Championships spot with a 194.94 while the Crystallettes' 193.09 took third. Adrian rounded out the standings with a 187.60 overall score.
This competition officially concludes the 2019-20 season for Miami synchronized skating, who have combined to win 22 national championships and make 12 World Championship appearances.
