BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Miami women's basketball team (11-16, 4-11 Mid-American Conference) fell to Buffalo by an 88-72 margin on Wednesday.
Lauren Dickerson broke the school record for 20-point games with 49 in her career as she totaled 24 points against the Bulls.
Savannah Kluesner recorded her eighth 20-point game of the season with 21 points while
Peyton Scott totaled 14. Kluesner led the RedHawks with seven rebounds.
Miami started slow as the RedHawks were unable to get onto the scoreboard past the midway point of the first quarter. Buffalo scored the first 18 points of the game. The RedHawks received baskets from four different players in the first quarter as the Bulls had the 20-8 advantage after 10 minutes of play. Buffalo shot 56.3 percent from the floor during the first quarter.
The Bulls stretched their lead to 27-10 with just under eight minutes to play in the half, a lead that was maintained past the midway point of the second quarter. Scott and Dickerson put together a 9-0 run to bring Miami within six points, 33-27, with 2:31 to play before halftime. The run was capped by a three-pointer from Scott, the shot that put her into double figures.

Buffalo would finish the first half on a 9-2 run to take a 42-29 lead into the locker room despite Miami shooting 76.9 percent from the floor during the second quarter.
The teams traded baskets through the third quarter as the Bulls held the 22-21 advantage during the quarter. Both Dickerson and Kluesner reached double figures with three-pointers in the third quarter.

Miami cut Buffalo's lead to as little as 12 points during third quarter action, trailing 62-50 with less than two minutes to play in the quarter. The RedHawks faced a 67-51 deficit going into the final quarter of play.
Dickerson broke the program's 20-point record less than a minute into the fourth quarter.

The Bulls stretched the lead to the largest of the evening, leading 81-59 with four minutes to play. The RedHawks scored the next seven points, but scoring was capped at 88-72 when the final buzzer sounded.
The RedHawks return home on Saturday for alumnae day. The women host Akron at 1 p.m. to kick off a tripleheader with men's basketball and hockey.
