Miami takes five-of-six singles matches to run away with the victory.
MIAMISBURG, Ohio - The Miami RedHawks won their second-straight match over a local opponent Saturday when they rolled through the host Dayton Flyers by a score of 6-1.
The RedHawks improve to an even 3-3 after Saturday's win.
Miami swept all three of the doubles matches on the day. Brindtha Ramasamy and Laura Rico continued their winning streak with a 6-2 win against Dayton's top doubles team, while the duos of Milana Lysova and Priyana Kalita along with Melati Devi and Makenzie Myers each took 6-3 victories to earn the match's opening point for Miami.
In singles, Miami's top five singles slots all one two-set victories. Ramasamy breezed through Dayton's Paige Kompa by a score of 6-2, 6-3 at first singles, while Rico had a 6-1, 6-4 win at second singles. Elsewhere, Devi followed up her strong showing against Cincinnati in Miami's last match with another dominant two-set win, defeating Dayton's number three with a score of 6-3, 6-1. Lysova won by the same exact scoreline on court four, while Kalita won 6-2, 6-3 at fifth singles.
Miami will return to action next weekend with its first two home matches. The 'Hawks will host Xavier at Harper's Point in Cincinnati on Friday before playing Western Kentucky on Saturday in Hamilton.
