LAST TIME OUT
The RedHawks last made their appearance in competition two weeks ago, taking down Cincinnati by a score of 4-3 after Miami won doubles and then three straight singles matches to clinch the match early. After a dominating doubles performance,
Brindtha Ramasamy,
Laura Rico, and
Melati Devi all won quick two-set matches at the top three singles positions to seal the win for the RedHawks. The win moved MU to 2-3 on the season.
DYNAMIC DUO
The sophomore tandem of
Laura Rico and
Brindtha Ramasamy have added two Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week awards to their resumes, winning it both for their performance against Cincinnati and the week prior for defeating Purdue's top doubles team. The pairing is now 2-1 on the year, all at number one doubles, with their only loss being a narrow defeat against Kentucky's nationally-ranked top doubles team. On a singles level, both players are 3-2 this season at the top two singles positions.

This includes a 5-2 loss against Cincinnati, a 4-0 defeat to fellow MAC team Western Michigan, and a 6-1 decision against Xavier, a team the RedHawks will see next week. Paige Kompa is Dayton's current top singles player, having pulled out a pair of wins at the top of the lineup. The Flyers are coached by Erica Echko and are coming a 4-21 season last year.
