RedHawks Continue Road Trip at Evansville

ON TAP: Miami closes out its non-conference schedule on Saturday, Dec. 19 with a trip to Evansville. Opening tip is set for 2 p.m. and will be carried live on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT: The Miami University women's basketball team had a season-best 11 turnovers, but struggled shooting the ball all afternoon as it dropped a 69-51 versus Central Michigan. Peyton Scott had a team-high 18 points, while Kelly McLaughlin added 13 and Katie Davidson chipped in with 11, but the RedHawks shot just 18-of-59 (30.5%) for the game. Miami was also 3-of-19 from behind the arc.

ABOUT EVANSVILLE: Evansville is 2-1 on the year which includes an 84-52 victory on Wednesday over Oakland City. Abby Feit leads the way with 19.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. As a team, the Purple Aces are shooting 45.7% from the floor, while holding its opponents to just 34.0%.

SERIES WITH EVANSVILLE: Miami is 2-1 all-time versus the Purple Aces. The RedHawks beat Evansville last season in Oxford, 72-64.

ROAD WARRIORS: Saturday's tilt will be Miami's third straight road contest and its fourth road game in the last five. Miami is currently 0-3 on the road this year.

BALANCED ATTACK: The RedHawks come into the contest versus the Purple Aces with nearly four scorers averaging double figures and five RedHawks averaging at least 5.0 rebounds per game.

BACKCOURT PROWESS: The backcourt duo of sophomore Peyton Scott and freshman Katie Davidson are averaging a combined 32.8 points, 12.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists. The duo averages nearly 36 minutes each per game played as well.

GREAT SCOTT: Peyton Scott had a banner year for the RedHawks in 2019-20, averaging 12.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, earning All-MAC Freshman honors. Scott started and played in 30 games last season and has started each of the last 34 contests for the Red and White. The sophomore has already scored 448 points and recorded 161 rebounds in her career and is averaging 18.0 points and 5.8 rebounds this year.

EARLY IMPACT: Freshman Katie Davidson has made a quick impression on the basketball team. In her first career game, she posted 16 points and 10 rebounds at No. 22 Notre Dame and followed it up with 14 points, five rebounds and five assists in a win over Valpo. Last week at Ohio State she had a career-best 18 points and is now averaging 14.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

CAREER YEAR: While still early in the season, senior Abbey Hoff is posting the best numbers of her career. Through her first three years with the RedHawks, Hoff averaged 4.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. This year, Hoff is averaging 7.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest. Over her last 15 games, Hoff is 19-of-48 (38.5%) from behind the arc.

POUND THE BOARDS: Despite its incredibly tough schedule, Miami leads the MAC in rebounding margin at +7.3 per game. Miami was plus-9 in rebounds at Notre Dame and plus-24 in a win over Valpo. Even at Ohio State, the RedHawks were only outrebounded by one.

LOOKING AHEAD: The RedHawks' road trip continues with a Dec. 22 contest at Bowling Green.
