Miami Hosts Buffalo Saturday in Conference Opener

The RedHawks and Bulls are scheduled to tip at 2 inside Millett Hall.

ON TAP: Miami (7-5) hosts Buffalo on Saturday to begin conference play. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Fans can listen to the game on The Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner and watch on ESPN3.

SWOOP'S KIDS CLUB DAY: All Swoop's Kids Club members get into the game for free. Guests of Swoop's Kids Club members may purchase tickets for $3 each either in advance with the promo code or at the door. Kids activities will be located on the west concourse throughout the game. There will also be open court play following the conclusion of the game as all fans are encouraged to play at their own risk.

LAST TIME OUT: The RedHawks dominated Tiffin in the non-conference finale on New Year's Eve, winning by an 83-51 margin inside Millett Hall. Abbey Hoff scored a career-high 18 points as she was a perfect 7-of-7 from the field. Lauren Dickerson, Kelly McLaughlin and Monique Esbrand also reached double figures. Miami went on a 28-1 run during the end of the second quarter and the beginning of the third quarter as the RedHawk defense held Tiffin without a field goal for 13:14. This season, Dickerson leads the Miami offense with 15.9 points per game while Savannah Kluesner is averaging a team-high 8.7 rebounds per game, which ranks third in the conference.
 
ABOUT BUFFALO: The Bulls enter MAC play with a 9-2 record after wrapping up their non-conference schedule with a 73-49 win over Dartmouth on Dec. 29. Dyaisha Fair led the Bulls' offense with 22 points and tied the team lead with nine rebounds. Hanna Hall (13 points) and Elea Gaba (12 points) also scored in double figures. Fair ranks third in the nation in points per game as she leads Buffalo's offense with 23.6 points per game. Theresa Onwuka is averaging 17.5 points per game and leads the team with 7.1 rebounds per game.
 
SERIES WITH THE BULLS: The all-time series is tied at 20, though Buffalo is on a seven-game win streak. Last season, Miami fell by a 59-66 margin at home and a 61-86 margin on the road. In March 2 in the teams' meeting in Buffalo, Kristen Levering led the Miami offense with 16 points. In the teams' meeting in Oxford, Kluesner recorded a double-double (12 points, 14 rebounds) as the Bulls used a third-quarter push to come back and win the game.

LOOKING AHEAD: Miami concludes its four-game home stand on Wednesday as it hosts Northern Illinois. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
