Senior Opens Leon Lurje Trophy with Season Best

Miami sits in seventh in the team standings in its first international competition.
GOTHENBURG, Sweden – In its first competition in 48 days, Miami University's senior synchronized skating team opened its international slate with a season-best score on Friday.
The RedHawks opened up the Leon Lurje Trophy with the short program portion of the competition, performing a clean skate to the tune of a 65.30.
Miami sits seventh in the 12-team standings and its season high short program is tops among the two American programs at the competition. Team Paradise (Russia) leads the field with a score of 81.53. MU's Amazing Grace short program did not get a single deduction and received a technical score of 35.30 with a 30.00 component score to achieve its top mark of the season.
The Red & White's first international competition of the season ends on Saturday when they perform their 'Rise Up' themed free skate at around 7:25 p.m. local time (1:25 p.m. ET).
